These beautiful wheel thrown mortar and pestle set is made with speckled clay covered with a layer of white/light blue/green glaze, with the speckles peaking through. As with most of my pieces, the outside is partially glazed, showing the beauty of the tan colored speckled clay. This is a great addition to any kitchen where dried herbs and spices are used. It is great for grinding spices for making curries, teas, or crushing dried herbs to add to dressings or marinades.
